Repeat Prescriptions

Patients who require repeat prescriptions should give 48 hours’ notice either by phone or by filling in a repeat prescription form which is available at reception.

We recommend you order your prescriptions in the morning to ensure they will be ready for collection on time.

Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Generic Medication

Please be aware that our practice has commenced prescribing generic medication, this is to help in reducing the cost of medication to the HSE.  You can also help to do this by doing the following things

  1. Discuss your medication regularly with your GP or Pharmacist, tell them if you have enough medication at home.
  2. It is dangerous to have extra medication in your home, so return it to your pharmacist to dispose of it correctly
  3. If you get a repeat prescription only order what you need.

Please be aware that, money spent on unused medicine can be spent on other people in need, or other health services.
